How early voting works
No excuse needed
Any registered voter may vote early, for any reason or none. That is the difference from voting by mail, which requires a reason set by state law.
In person, at any site in your county
At your county election commission office or at any satellite early voting site your county opens. Your Election Day polling place can be a different building.
Saturdays included
You may vote early on any Saturday in the early voting period. There is no Sunday early voting in Tennessee.
Moved within your county? Fix it there
A voter who has moved within the county can update their address and vote at the same early voting site.
Bring a photo ID
A federal or Tennessee state photo ID, the same as on Election Day. It may be expired.
Already registered
Early voting is a way to cast a ballot, not a way to register. Registration for this election closed before early voting began.

What to bring
A federal or Tennessee state photo ID showing your name and photograph. It may be expired. A Tennessee driver license, a United States passport, a state or federal government photo ID, a military photo ID, or a Tennessee handgun carry permit with your photo are all accepted. Do I need a reason to vote early in Tennessee?
