Eleven angles on Tennessee education

Each dashboard is searchable by school, district, or county. Pair two or three to see the full picture of how a school is doing.

How to use this section

One school, three data points, a real answer.

A school grade tells you a letter. The dashboards in this section tell you why. Start with the school you care about, then read the same school across three or four tools until the picture comes into focus.

For a parent comparing two schools, the pairing that matters is School Grades plus Graduation Rates plus Ready Graduate. For a school board member evaluating a district, Equity Gaps plus College-Going Rates plus Flight Scores tells you whether outcomes match opportunity. For a journalist or researcher, every dashboard exposes the underlying data and links back to the original Tennessee Department of Education source.

No login. No paywall. No tracking. The data belongs to the public; we just make it findable.

Sources

All dashboards in this section pull from the Tennessee Department of Education Report Card, the National Student Clearinghouse, and the state’s annual ACT participation file. Each dashboard names its specific source at the bottom of the page.

Caveats

Small-enrollment schools may have suppressed data to protect student privacy. Alternative schools and very-small-enrollment schools are not graded by the state and appear as Not Rated on the school grades dashboard. Subgroup data is suppressed when fewer than ten students fall into a group.
