Which Candidates Have Taken Your Position?

Each question covers one of the five education issues on our scoreboard, with the policy facts and what a statewide survey of Tennessee voters found. Answer or skip any of them. Nothing is required to see the result, and no answer is tied to you.

Candidate positions come from our own tracker, sourced to each campaign’s published material and reporting on the record. A candidate who has not stated a position on an issue is left out of that issue entirely: not counted for, not counted against. The result shows every position it measured you against, with its source, so the number is one you can check.

This compares stated positions on education. It is not a recommendation and Tennessee Firefly does not endorse candidates. The full scoreboard carries every candidate on every issue, whether they have said anything or not.

The candidate roster is the Tennessee Secretary of State’s certified 2026 governor list: the two primary winners plus every independent who qualified by petition. It is derived in code from that list, so this page carries the same fifteen candidates the scoreboard does.

Positions are read from the same resolver the scoreboard uses. Nothing on this page is written for the quiz, extrapolated from a related statement, or filled in from a party’s general platform. Where the record is silent, the page says so and scores nothing.

Scoring counts a candidate’s position as the same as your answer, a partial overlap, or different, and the rule that produced each label is printed beside the issue. Every issue counts the same. There is no weighting and no hidden multiplier.

Answers are counted in aggregate only: how many readers picked each option, by day. No profile is stored, nothing is linked to a reader, and answering does not sign you up for anything. The count is taken when a reader reaches the result, so it reflects people who finished the questions rather than everyone who opened the page, and it is not a survey of Tennessee voters.
