Tennessee 4-H is the largest youth development program in the state, with active clubs in every one of the 95 counties through the UT Extension system. Summer programming typically includes county-level 4-H camp weeks (usually June, $50 to $250 for a week-long day or overnight camp at the regional 4-H centers — Clyde Austin in East TN, Lone Oaks in West TN), state-level 4-H Junior High and Senior High camps and conferences, project-specific weeks (poultry, livestock, horse, dairy, plant science), and 4-H Roundup statewide leadership weeks at UT Knoxville.
For families new to 4-H, the local county extension office (one per county) is the starting point — every 4-H program runs through there. Membership is free; project enrollment is free; summer camp fees are subsidized. For agriculture-specific interest, the project-track weeks at Clyde Austin (East TN) and Lone Oaks (West TN) are the deepest immersion.
