Hamilton County teachers appear set for pay increase

Good morning and welcome to this week's edition of the Signal.
After a year without raises, Hamilton County teachers and staff appear to be in line for a pay increase under a $705 million budget the school board advanced Thursday night. We take a closer look at the spending plan and what happens next.
Elsewhere in Tennessee education, the State Board of Education moved closer to letting high school students substitute an elective for one of two required world language credits, and a Firefly investigation uncovered something surprising about a claim made by Memphis-Shelby County School Board members.
