Chattanooga Prep fell to Anderson County 49-22 on Sept. 25 in Clinton.¶
The Sentinels were coming off a loss to Marion County. Anderson County entered the game after a win over Carter the previous week.¶
The game remained close through the first half before turning in Anderson County’s favor. Chattanooga Prep struggled with costly mistakes, and the Sentinels could not keep pace with the Mavericks’ high-powered offense, led by quarterback J.D. Gillum, who threw for more than 400 yards.¶
The victory improved Anderson County’s record to 4-2, and the Mavericks will hit the road to face Gibbs in their first district game. Chattanooga Prep fell to 2-4 and will now turn its attention to Tyner Academy as the Sentinels continue the search for their first district victory.¶
