UT Haslam College ranks first and second for graduate and undergrad supply chain programming

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville's Haslam College of Business has once again received national recognition for its programming relating to supply chain management, ranking first in Gartner's 2024 Top 25 Supply Chain University rankings for graduate supply chain management programs and second in North America for undergraduate programs. Students earning a supply chain management degree pursue careers in manufacturing; the federal government; professional, scientific, and technical services; management of companies; and wholesale trade.

According to a recent announcement, this marks the tenth year Haslam's graduate supply chain programs have placed in the organization's top 10. The undergraduate program has been among North America's best for 13 years, the announcement added.

"These rankings demonstrate the ongoing excellent reputation of our supply chain management programs," Stephen Mangum, dean and Stokely Foundation Leadership chair at Haslam, said in a public statement. "Students (prospective and current), peer institutions and industry partners recognize the Haslam College of Business as being at the forefront of supply chain education and thought leadership."

According to the announcement, Gartner analysts looked at program size, scope and industry value, enrollment numbers, percentages of students who've completed internships prior to graduation, quality of curriculum, diversity and salary figures for recent graduates, among other metrics. In addition, the announcement added, Gartner recently conducted a survey of supply chain practitioners in the U.S. and Canada to gauge the quality of programs.  In these categories, UT was ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

The announcement noted that Haslam's undergraduate program allows students to complete an internship prior to graduation and provides opportunities to gain experience within their first year. In addition, students can gain Supply Chain Career Ready Certification credentials.

"The college and department have spent more than two decades developing a robust and rigorous curriculum across our undergraduate and graduate programs that emphasizes relevant, real-world application at its core," John Bell, supply chain management department head, said in the announcement. "Haslam is not just a premier destination for the nation's leading faculty, who represent the best in academia and practice, but a place where the future leaders of the supply chain are being developed every day."
