Metro Nashville Public Schools Director Dr. Adrienne Battle gave special recognition to a school counselor and other staff at James Lawson High School for saving a student’s life last month at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Napier Elementary School students helped Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) leaders break ground on a new outdoor learning space Thursday that features an outdoor classroom and a Storybook Trail for students and families to read together.

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) Director Dr. Adrienne Battle told Nashville business leaders the district’s recent national recognition for learning loss recovery followed strategic changes to better serve students.Speaking to the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Monday, Battle said the district has focused on key changes in recent years, including doubling down on the district’s Tier 1 instruction focus on high quality instructional materials and ensuring the district is operating with a common curriculum at all schools.

My heart goes out to the victims’ families, and we stand with the Covenant community in making sure they have the tools and the resources needed for the long road to recovery,” said Battle.

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) Director Dr. Adrienne Battle laid out the district’s $1.2 billion spending plan to raise salaries, provide universal free lunch for students, and address problems with the substitute teacher system to members of the Metro Council Budget& Finance Committee.

The proposed 2023/2024 budget for Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) includes pay increases for school administrators, universal free lunch for students, and increased funding for classroom associates to address problems with the district substitute teacher system.

Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced a plan Wednesday to provide every district run public high school athletic program with new or improved sports fields.The announcement is part of a $15 million partnership with the Tennessee Titans and the Foundation for Athletics in Nashville Schools, Inc. (The Fans Inc), a non-profit organization dedicated to endowing athletic programming at Metro Nashville Public Schools.
