Metro Nashville Public Schools opened its application portal Wednesday for parents who want to enroll their child in the district’s Pre-K program.
Children who will be 4 years old on or before August 15 are eligible for the program that’s designed to give Nashville’s youngest learners the skills and building blocks necessary to have a successful grade-school education
“Our Pre-K programs are more than just daycare. Our classrooms are designed to help our littlest learners develop the skills and confidence they need to flourish in kindergarten and beyond. Experienced teachers and support staff create wondrous, imaginative classrooms that inspire exploration and discovery – and a lifelong love of learning. The biggest learning stories start with the smallest of learners – and that’s why our Pre-K programs are so important to overall academic success,” said the district.
To apply, parents must be able to provide proof of Davidson County residency and a parent/guardian photo ID. Parents or guardians must also obtain a student ID number for their child through the MNPS online portal and submit required documents.
Once a student ID number is obtained, the application can be submitted and the parent/guardian will receive instructions on next steps.
Families can apply for their child to have a seat at the district’s Pre-K program through March 31, 2023. Because of limited space, families are encouraged to apply early.
Those who apply after the March 31 deadline will be placed on a waiting list.
